Good morning from sunny Sarasota, FL. Just took an interest in searching rolls after a little research. I am looking forward to learning from others here and having a good time going through rolls. Looking to start a collection before it’s too late (in my early 30’s). I will post some finds later on!

Welcome to the hobby! Just a word of encouragement, I'm sure you will find a lot of stuff that at first seems like a find but ends up not being valuable, but if you keep looking, you can find some really cool good stuff! There are a lot of experienced guys on here I have been learning from that helped me grow in my understanding of coins, so listen to those experienced guys. I had a few times of getting mad that my find wasn't as special as I thought or that I couldn't see what the heck the more experienced guys did, but over time, like anything, you can learn and really find your niche in collecting and roll hunting. Good luck in your searching!

    Welcome to the neighborhood, Austin!

Naturally, I don't know what your goals will be, but it would be advisable for you to buy a copy of A Guide Book of United States Coins, commonly called the "Red Book". It is published annually by Whitman Books and contains information about every coin that has ever been used in the US since colonial times. Please bear in mind that the price guides are not very accurate as they are published only once a year.

Also, if you plan to search for Mint Errors, you might consider a book such as Official Price Guide to Mint Errors by Alan Herbert. Granted, there are numerous websites devoted to errors and varieties, but if you're like me, I always take the opportunity to add to my personal library.
