Weir farm obverse struck through?

    Hi! Not really sure what's going on with this one. I'm thinking a struck through. Thanks for any insight!!

    It does appear to have had a foreign substance on the die when it was struck, but @paddyman98 is my "go to" guy for this type of thing. Let's see what he and others think.

    I found a few of these in the coin dispenser at work so, I was thinking that the chances of anything other than PMD were slim. I figured that consulting the experts would help. Thanks for the welcome, I'm very happy to be here!

    For sure this is grease on die. Very common to see.

    I would agree that this is a struck through error. I have a nickel that is similar. These are very cool to find when CRH’ing and they catch your eye quickly! Nice find! Put that in a 2X2

    Cats are free to like what they like. But Meow finds thousands of these kinds of coins in a year. Might be neat in a lot of aspects, but far too common to get that excited about it. For example Meow has a ENTIRE box of rolled bank rolled dimes just like this.
