Pretty sure this is just a dryer coin but wanted to run it by some fresh eyes. Within weight parameters, diameter smaller, rim 2x thick. What's throwing me off is how uniform and flat the rim is.

I'm thinking that it has been spooned. It is not that hard for someone adept at spooning a coin to make the edge appear uniform. The edge of a dryer coin would be more random and rounded toward the rims, and the devices would appear "melted" from the heat. ~ Chris

It may be a thick planchet but it looks more like the edge was spooned. That is a process used to make a coin smaller and drill it out to make a ring.

You just beat me Chris. Great minds think alike-Spooned. Definitely not a dryer coin.

    Not a dryer damaged cent.
Definitely a spooned or hammered edge.
