If you read the ads closely, "unsearched" actually means unsearched by the seller. Of course, those coins have been searched completely before coming into possession by the current seller.

There's the key, 1957, two years before the memorial lincoln was minted. I'm surprised you didn't get a 1914d. Even then, they may have been searched and then sold to the bank.

55 years ago I bought 5 bags of pennies. The 50000 coin bags were bought from LCS and none are operating now. The bags have been in my garage waiting for me to search them. I am 75 and disabled so I guess it will be up to my kids to search or sell in a few years

I have a little less than a thousand wheats. I see a wheat, I throw it in the box, without 'searching'.

Are mine 'unsearched' ? Doesn't matter to me; call them what you want. May be 1/2 dozen are premies ............................

As far as I know. Your not getting what the seller is selling. This happens often when saying UN searched rolls Mostly folks that stick a 1910 on the ends. With 1950’s the rest. If you gotta buy. Buy 1 at first

That is a complaint you will often hear from someone that buys bulk rolls of wheat cents. "It's a scam, they were almost all 1940's and 50's with just a few earlier ones." They forget that something like 90% of ALL the wheat cents were struck in the 1940's and 50's. You would EXPECT hoards that were put aside after the wheats were discontinued to be MORE than 90% 40's and 50's because many of the earlier coins were already gone from circulation.

Think about this. If you were to start right now hoarding every Lincoln Memorial cent that came through you hands (not counting anything you may already be sitting on) What percentage of them would be zinc? The copper and the plated zince were both made for about the same length of time so do you think they would be about 50/50? No. Because something like 66% of ALL Lincoln Memorial cents were made 1983 and later. and with many of the older copper cents already gone into hoards what you would gather starting now would probably be 80% or more plated zinc.
