Everyones opinion is of course welcome but i think this is a question primarily for @Paddy54 I think this coin favours DDO2 more as the markers in Variety vista match more accurately. But my real question to Paddy is have you ever come across a doubled/tripled eyelid and a doubled earlobe before? There is no mention of these in any of the 1964 attributions
I do have a Roosvelt dime collection 46 to 64 and to be honest I seldom look at that series. I don't collect proofs, so to be honest another member maybe better to answer your questions. There are so many varieties in modern coinage....and to be honest very seldom do I buy anything other than h 10's, SLQ, and buffalos. As for double eyes and extra ears yes I've seen some....but other than a1943 Jeff double eye they are of no interest to me. I do like and use Variety vista alot but you sometimes need to go to Wexler, or other sites to confirm ,as detail are sometimes lacking . Proofs are hard to image....I honestly cannot read your images from a photo to give you an answer. In hand yes for sure... Both the Jefferson nickel and Roosvelt dimes were the first 2 series I completed. So that said they been in the vault for years. And like the dime my Jeffersons went a tad bit longer until they made Tom look like strung out drug addict. And yes I do believe that new finds are out there ...what a few years back a 1919 Mercury Dime ddo huge ddo only took near a 100 years to discover. So yeah they are out there....just need to hunt them.
Many thanks for your time, i will continue to search other avenues and specialist sites. Maybe some other members have come across something like this, especially the eye as i have never seen two distinct eyes, one on top of the other before.
I think i have my answer. Because it is the only thing on the coin that is doubled and the rest of the obverse shows only light spreading of the letters and date, it is classified as average or below importance according to Wexler's. Thank you for your time.
No worries anytime I'm sorry that I wasn't able to answer. But ok rather not make a comment on a coin or anything for that matters that isn't in my wheelhouse. Good luck in your search.
Understood, but no apology neccessary as i had checked loads of resources but totally forgot about Wexler's, so thanks again.
