Hello all, I have some wheat cents I found The other day, I have three questions about them. Would appreciate any info on them, thanks in advance for the insight. Are these errors? If so what errors are they? Lastly, are these worth a little more because of them? Price range would be good. Trying to learn more about errors in general as I am a big noob
1st Cent - Damage 2nd Cent - looks like a tapered planchet 3rd Cent - Small Brockage 4th Cent - Clipper damage not an error 5th Cent - Damaged 6th Cent - Small incomplete planchet IMHO
Welcome to the neighborhood. Like many new collectors, most of the members here would direct you to study the minting process so you can more easily determine what is a mint error, verses just damage. Ask yourself how a particular coin could have come from the mint the way it is. Most times, you will discover it is just a damaged coin, PMD, post mint damage, meaning it happened AFTER it left the mint and not a true error. Good luck on the hunt.
