No...not a star coin. I mean a "T" coin. The star is for exceptional eye appeal...the T was for toning right? So, a toned coin with less than stellar eye appeal could have been labeled a "T." My thoughts when I first guessed on this coin was that a star and a "T" sorta said the same thing...now that I rethink it they don't.
I have never seen a “T” NGC coin that wasn’t spectacular. It is a pretty rare designation. As is, the star given on a toned coin means it is pretty fabulous in terms of toning. Star T is a double vindication of the coin’s extreme eye appeal, and spectacular toning. Very cool!
There are some T designations out there where the coin is so-so and it probably just meant the opposite of white in those cases. https://www.pcgs.com/auctionprices/item/1944-s-5c/84024/-5558839867032723557
We just have different ways of looking at it. To me it's so-so and you like it. There are more on eBay now that to me look average but some might like: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-5C-Je...428640?hash=item46ae816e20:g:5OYAAOSwby5ex9tp https://www.ebay.com/itm/1950-D-JEF...950138?hash=item4218cd503a:g:AkYAAOSwl7dcRKyu https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Old-H...994518?hash=item2f2dde1ed6:g:RbUAAOSw5dhbznZp
