I'd say AG. Very attractive, though, I like how the dark toning outlines the bust and makes it stand out. I think you have a good eye.

I think you should send it to me for safe keeping. :D It would fit so nicely in my type collection. ;)

    Ribbit

Ps: If you don't want to send me that, then grab me a nice Chain Cent and that'll be a good substitute. :kewl:

You should have an email from me. I really like this coin - I would call in F2, yet I still like it.

low, ag, but I really like those Bust quarters.

fr-2 or very low AG-3, depends on who grades it. I'd call it $200-250 for that, and a good deal for a hard to find series.

I'd agree with AG...but I'd like to add that it is a very nice looking coin. I think that there are some designs that really look good circulated and this is one. It's a fine coin.

    I don't see that.
What are you look at to determine that it is a fake?

many hair details are inaccurate and hair details are the most notable. Additionally liberty's bust is far to lacking in wear compared to the rest of the coin. In other words, the bust details are sharp and the rest of the coin is worn. I have studied counterfeit draped bust coins extensively and can positively say with 100% certainty that this is a counterfeit, probably Chinese in origin.

    G-4 $???.??

I agree with Isaiah regarding the strange wear pattern but I don't think I'd go so far as to say with certainty that it's counterfeit. If there's any doubt, let a TPG decide.

I'd go out on a limb here and say it's a Browning-1 variety.

I'd say borderling AG/F.. leaning towards an F because of the scratches on the Obverse myself.

But I'm a bit rusty at this so what do I know.. beautiful coin however.

Can you demonstrate this with some side by side pictures, because all of the hair details (basically the outline) line up with all the 1807's I have looked at. Plus when I put my 1806 on the screen next to it, it still matches up. I see nothing on this coin to say counterfeit. Everything looks legit to me and I agree it looks like a B-1.

You're missing the date details, especially the loops of the 8, and hair curls.

In ryanbrooks' picture, the loops in the 8 are almost circular; in mrbrklyn's pictures the loops are vertically oblong. Also, note the bottom hair curl nearest the 1 in the date. In ryanbrooks' and Browning-1 the curl is open at the bottom. In the others, the curl is closed. Other than those obvious differences, the coin is too worn to see other telling details.

I see nothing that even remotely makes it look counterfeit. Wear is never the same on ANY coin so that can rarely be an attribute for determining authenticty and on this one, I see nothing about the wear that says counterfeit.

    I think it's 100% authentic but very worn, FR-2 maybe AG-3. :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

I agree toad - from looking at browning 1's on heritage I would say it is real.
