You've got to stop eating those hallucinogenic shrooms!

The Mint stopped hand-punching the mintmarks into the working dies about 1990.

And I ask once again.. Why are all your polls exactly alike? They make no sense for your current threads.

A word I never heard of until I joined Coin Talk: Pareidolia.
That's what's going on with your coin.

Looks like the mint mark has one of those little curly hairs sitting in it. That's the "S" you're seeing, right?

It appears to me your S is a plating Blister nothing else. Jmo

What you are describing would be impossible to happen in 2005. After 1990 the mintmarks were in the master die so the only way to get a D/S would be for the die to be hubbed with an S mint hub and then with a D mint hub. So could that happen? Well after 1997 Denver made all their own dies while Philadelphia still made the S mint dies. So there were no S mint hubs in Denver, and no D mint hubs in Philadelphia. So there was no way for a die to get hubbed by one of each. And for the final nail in the coffin, after 1996/7 they began using single squeeze hubbing and the dies didn't receive two separate hubbings.
