There is no sign or trace of mint luster left in these coins. The coin has to have a trace of mint luster in order for them to be in that cataglory of AU and Au 58 has to have almost all of it;s mint luster lef,t andAu 55 all of it's mint luster left, Au50 has to have three quarters of it's mint luster left. Your definitions are not far off, but there are 10 of us who see a least some luster on the coins. I am not sure what you are not seeing. BTW, here are PCGS's definitions for AU.
Very gorgeous coins, especially that 24-S!!! :thumb: I'll say AU-55 on the 19-S, and AU-53ish on the 24-S. VERY nice!! :thumb: Are these for your personal collection? Phoenix
That;s The PCGS Grading the wonder Here's the Official ana Grading Standards Which I go by Jazzcoins Joe
I don't think our differences have nothing to do with the amount of wear, but rather the luster that everyone else is seeing. If you are saying that the 24-S is worn, go find me a red one with more detail on the obv. I have seen nicer wheat lines, but few if any for the head. They may be the poorest struck of the entire series.
