Good morning, do you mean the line under and in front of his chin? Don't see much on the back except some PMD (Post Minting Damage)
Even enlarging the photos, it appears to me to be an ordinary dime with some circulation damage. The line is difficult to view in your photos and maybe a closeup would help, but I think it is damage and just a coincident that it follows the jaw line.
On lines like yours. If it's not a raized line. Its a scratch. If the line is raised. Most likely its a crack. Crack is more better. Scratch. Nothing. Lol. Hi sis
hi and goodpm sis thank you for your opinion. Like this? The raised is long die crack ? D is floating [ATTACH=full
Hi how are you? I didn’t see your comment for 1 week lol. Anyway I just see this right now but it’s damage?
Coins are soft metal and get really banged up from being used so much. Keep at it and before long you can become able to tell PMD from something that happened at the mint. I hope you can find some good ones in the future.
If you could find one of these 1982 dimes without a mintmark they have a pretty good value. They are very hard to find now because most coins has been looked at by error folks.
