    If it were missing, wouldn't we be looking at the zinc core since the copper plate is supposed to be only 8 microns thin?

    Is the anomaly in the coin stepped down or is the surface flat? I looks to me to be a die crack from the blurry image when you zoom in.

    You can clearly see in the photos that the copper is two different colors and what looks like a die break or crack is a step down in the copper with the thicker copper covering most of the surface and the other side is perfect although I don't have a picture of that side up
