Valuable variety chances, and a ridiculous offer on MME

First off, I thought it was funny that MME is selling copper pennies per pound as if they are junk bullion and even compare it to junk silver in the description. LOL! They are selling you just under $1.50 worth of pennies for the low cost of $2.85! I pay $.01 each for my junk copper pennies.

With that mess aside, It seems to me that there would probably be a higher chance of finding a valuable variety if you were searching only the 95% copper pennies, am I right? Sure, you lose the '84 doubled ear, WAMs, CAMs, and many other great ones, but most of the Cherry Picker's Guide varieties seem to be in the copper category anyway. Am I right in thinking you would have a better valuable variety ratio for 95% pennies or am I just showing my cards that I don't look for enough newer varieties in my roll hunting? Just something to chew on.

I guess the potential is there. That being said, the cost you would pay to acquire the coins would not make up for whatever potential varieties you may find IMO.

 

For the record, I'm not saying buy these overpriced pennies to search. You would never make up that premium.
I am asking if you hypothetically search only 95%ers, am I right in thinking there would be a better chance of finding valuable coins than in your typical mixed box? I wouldn't want to not search my zinc pennies in real life, but the listing just got me thinking about it.
I guess my real question is whether anyone has done work with the statistical probabilities in coin roll hunting for various coin types? Maybe even just someone compiling their own hunting data? Just curious.

Well, heck! I better start playing the lottery with all the finds I have had! Just think of all the penny boxes I could get with $200 million!

I guess I should define "valuable." I think anything that would get you $25 without grading or twice your grading fees graded would be considered "valuable" in my book since you are paying $.01. I mean, I ran across the house screaming to wake my wife up at 2:00 AM for a 1998 WAM 2 months ago, so my standards of "valuable find" aren't too high here.
