I picked up this 1951 D Truman Dime which is unusual for me. I'm generally not a fan of these but I was attracted to the detail of the jawline and facial shape of this dime. What do you think? How would it grade. There are 3 RPMs for the 51D roosevelt. I don't believe yours is any one of the three. I can't tell from the images, but I think I might see a little doubling on the 5. However if it is doubled I'm fairly sure it's what's called a inside braded die doubling... A similar type of doubling is the outside braded die doubling made famous by the 55 Lincoln (poor man's double die). As to the grade of your coin... I have the feeling that this coin is from an older die. I'm not seeing wear where I would expect to, but I am seeing a lack of detail that I would expect for something in a higher MS coin. I really would like some sharper images, but at the very least I think you've picked up an AU coin... If I could see it in hand I might be able to convince myself that it's MS. It's the luster that's really throwing me off. You've got quite a bit of it!
