1953 penny

    i have a 1953 penny that weighs 1.9 instead




























    of 3.1 was wondering why and its value/

    It weighs less.. so the value would be 1/2 Cent

    so it weighing 1,9 instead of 3.1 does not give it value

    Depends. If it is damaged then no. If it is an error then yes.

    But where is the picture? o_O

    Welcome to Coin Talk. First, did you calibrate your scale? The normal weight for a 1953 cent is 3.11 grams with a tolerance of 0.13g. (2.98-3.24) Also, could you please post photos of the reverse and a photo of the coin on the scale. Thank you

    Don't bother clicking on the link. It's a photo of a 1953-d and 1957-D Lincoln cent. (Obverse only). The size is too small to tell anything. They're not on a scale either. Also, it's probably the angle the photo was taken from, but the 53 looks smaller than the 57.
