Anacs may I sent it once to the new PCI that's Dominion grading service and they would not slab it. but Anacs may. once I get 4 more coin's to send Anacs I will see if they will
The 1862 is a souvenir token of a southern civil war group. Here is a nice thread ( yeah I am there also. check out my examples.) The reference is on another nice coin forum. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=29436 Jim
restrike, uh not. it is clearly not a restrike, it is a copy. real 1861 bashlow restrikes have the correct date. this does not.
I know it has been determined to not be a Bashlow Restrike, but if anyone ever has a Bashlow Restrike and wants to slab it, NGC slabs them: http://coins.ha.com/common/search_results.php?Ntk=SI_Titles&Ntt=bashlow&N=51+790+231&Ns= Ribbit
What is with the date on the coin it looks like a 8 over the 7?dd::goofer: .I'm not familier with restrikes or this particular coin ,but what is with the date? Jazzcoins Joe:whistle:
it's just counterfeit, not a restrike. no originals or restrikes have the 1862 date nor any other than 1861 all other dates are certain to be fakes.
Someone spent all their money on booze and woke up the next morning with the idea of making these and passing them off as originals, to make money to buy more booze with. The problem, they should have had one less drink the night before, so they could afford a cup of coffee before starting to make the die. Ribbit
Not just that, but they are loaded with die cracks. The original dies were in bad shape when the restrikes were made...none of them were without the cracks.
I know that! but the state down in Alabama made a set this set is 1961. one of the 2 here the other one
that is what the 1 form that I found the cent in said. I will take a photo of it. then U can read it for your self.
