@gini27 1982 was the last year for Cents struck on Copper. All Lincoln Cents were struck on Copper until mid 1982. Except 1943 they were struck on Steel Planchets. Then in 1982 the change was made and Cents were struck on Copper plated Zinc Planchets. There were millions of them struck at the Denver and Philadelphia Mints. You have a Large Date with nothing special about it. The following website will explain it and the different varieties better - http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1982.html
No worries. You asked if anyone could explain. Didn't ask what you wanted explained. Was tryin to clarify.
Welcome to CT @gini27 and don't be sorry. We all start someplace and learn as we go. Keep looking and educating yourself.
It looks copper but definitely a large date. 1982 was a transitional year for Cents. We moved from copper to Zinc. Welcome to CT.
