Got an EF one sitting here on my desk. Never really apperciate the silvers until they are yours and sitting here where you can tilt the coin and make it flash that special silver gleam. My loves, the old coppers, don't really flash anymore :goofer: Mine is a lovely piece that I picked up for a song (my wallet is lighter 110.00). Not bad if I do say so myself... Sure wish I had the camera already...mine should be shipping soon so hopefully I will be getting some pics up
Ah but here is the question...will I get her back? :mouth: The camera should be here within the next week
Blasphemy! I swear, you sound so much like a gurl . . . . I like coppers . . . . I like gold . . . . I like silver . . . . Why can't gurls make up their minds? :goof: Ribbit
Congratulations on your new addition sundance! I have a 1828 Bust Half sitting here next to my computer. Mine just grades a fine, but it's a nice addition to my capped bust half dollars. Lou
You hush! My love of coppers is more than silver or gold...I just happened upon this deal and snatched her up I like copper more than anything but you can't just walk into a shop and find a good quality Liberty Cap for a decent price sadly Besides it is true...old copper doesn't shine...it has an inner glow but none of the flash that silver has...well unless you can pay out the nose for it :kewl:
That's what this smiley is for ----> dd: That's one of the things I hate about the area I picked to collect, it's gonna cost me a fortune! :hammer: Ribbit
Ain't it the truth! :eating: <---------That smiley is me eating Top Ramen cause I spent all the money on copper The Capped Busts are lovely...this one might make me a collector of them...:goofer:
I love Ramen Noodles and eat them all the time during the winter, I'm out now so eating hamburgers and turkey sandwiches. My food budget is nothing compared to my coin budget. I'd walk a mile for a LCC and eat a live worm! :eat: Ribbit
Heh...I wish my coin budget could rival the food but alas I do like to eat. Keep hoping for one of those 'OMG' moments...where you find something excellent in some junk bin somewhere
Yes, Sundance, you are now infected with the slowly progressive CBH disease, characterized by infatuation with Bustie Halves and a craving for them that only increases with time. Incurable! Is this a support group? Maybe more of an enabler group..... Anyway, here is a recent purchase of minestill learning about white-balance presets on the slr I "borrowed" from my wife)
ksparrow you might want to fix the links. I used cut and paste on my browser to see the coin. That is a sweet 1829. Now if Sundance would just post a picture of his coin.
Thanks, I got the thumbnails to post finally but can't get them to enlarge by clicking on them! Anybody have a solution? I'm using the third selection down the list of links on the Photobucket page after you check the photos and click "generate html and img code" at the bottom. Thanks in advance for help!
Oooo yours is gorgeous! I can only find one thing I don't like about the Capped Busts...the wear points look funny after a while...like on her chin and cheek and the long term look of an average looking coin. I mean they are stunning when they are higher quality... Methinks my pocketbook will be screaming soon...so many coins I want and so little money to buy them with
ksparrow - your thumbnails work for me. Sundance - don't worry you can find some well struck lower grade pieces also. Personally I like them in the VF range, while AU to MS coins are nice the VF range makes me extremely happy.
