1A4B3240-12B6-4083-9CB1-47379EA350EC.png I’ve found myself loving dimes the past few months. Here’s a new addition. 1820 large 0. Obviously no MS65 here, but what kind of value would one like this hold? How much would you pay for this? I’ll tell you what I paid in a few hours to see how bad my judgement is :)

Unless I was a low ball collector I wouldn't buy it. My guess is you paid $5.00 for it. Don't laugh if I'm way off. :D

Maybe as high as ten dollars but it sure is worn.

It may be worn. But I would have sure been proud to own that in my young collecting days. My collection, which was highly prized in my mind consisted of worn slick IHC's and V-nickels. When my granddaddy surprised me with two GSA Morgans I thought I was in the big leagues....... I love your coin, Evan.

    That's a smooth one. Nice.
I believe what can be learned from any coin will defer from its cost.

Boy, could that coin tell a story if it could talk.

FR02? AG03? It's awesome that LIBERTY is still so bold, while everything else is faded away. There's a metaphor in there somewhere.

If you didn't break $10-$15 I think ya' did alright.

This post made me so unbelievably happy. This community is really wholesome sometimes.

Evan, that's a nice original coin. Keep it and make it part of your permanent collection. Here is an 1849 dime I bought when I was about 15, that would have been about 1967. This coin has followed me all around. I still have it and you can see I lovingly photographed it along with my slabbed and more expensive coins.

I thought that was awesome too! The Liberty is the best thing I saw in it, which is why I went after a coin that was so slick and smooth. Unusual for me considering I'm a VF+ kind of collector, but sometimes I enjoy dropping a couple bucks for something with a story.

Your guess was right on the spot. I was in that range :)

    I believe it's a JR-7 R-2.
