Double die???

    Can somebody help me with this coin that I have found. Is it a double die if so what variety it is? I can't seem to find anything on it.

    Treashunt, you beat me to the punch. The correct term is "doubleD," not "double." As in doubled die. Nearly all coins are double dies, since they are struck from a pair (2) of dies.

    Your coin is most certainly a double die but it isn't a doubled die.

    Not double anything in my opinion. What are you seeing that leads you to believe it might be doubled?

    ...die deterioration is correct assessment, imo...under the chin, and IGWT...other letters too. Since 1971, if a variety hasn’t been identified then it most likely is not one...that may be why you can’t find one listed anywhere...Spark
