For those collectors who are purchasing P & D rolls of the Sacagawea Golden Dollars and are opening them up out of the white cardboard boxes and putting them in the U.S. Mint's collector boxes: Do the rolls have the year printed on them? If not how are you keeping them organized by year, especially if you are getting the flip side on both sides of your roll? (Front and back?) The Presidential Dollar Coins have the President's name printed on them so you can easily distinguish them from each other...
I try and leave mine in the boxes, they tend to be worth mort that way. I open one box so I can look at them and take some photos and the rest I leave sealed in the boxes
Well I thought this would be interesting to post since we are on the topic of the golden dollar. I bought this in 2000 at walmart the first week the coin came out from the mint.I don't know if anybody else has seen this in a plastic case /I think I paid 2 bucks for it then. I saw alot of other people buying them but I;m pretty sure as the years went by they took them out and spent them. I just want to know has any other collector seen these or have these .I don;t mean to reroute the theard, but it;s still on the same topic. Jazzcoins Joe:whistle:
on the Sacagawea rolls from the mint there is a picture of the coin, look at the date and mint mark of that picture and you will see that it matches the date and mint mark of the coins inside of the roll.
I haven't seen a scan of this. I'm on the fence of whether to start collecting the Sacagawea Golden Dollars? I know that their production numbers are much less than the Presidential Golden Dollars. I like the scan of the Wal-Mart collectible from 2000. I wish the U.S. Mint would do a special proof set for just the Sacagawea...
Sacagawea Rolls Is it true that the U.S. Mint is making a change with the Sacagawea next year? I saw an Ebay post and the seller pointed out that this is the "Final Year Issue Before Series Design Changes". What design changes is he referring to?
Sacagawea changes Very interesting green18. Thanks! No wonder I've seen the prices of the original 2000 - 2008 series of Sacagawea Golden Dollars go up in price dramatically lately on Ebay. I would assume that this will only add to the collectibility of this coin? I take it there will be more of an interest in it?
Check out this old thread....used to be pictures but they were edited out by the admins because of copyright laws...http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=39233&highlight=sisters&page=2
It is true, the U.S. mint is going to change the reverse every year on Sacagaweas. I would bet this will lure some interest in collecting these. Likely, this would raise the values significantly of the low-mintage non-circulating recent years of this series.
Sacagawea Proof Set I think it would be cool to have a special Sacagawea Proof Set released each year just like they do with the Presidential Dollar Coins... The price of the Sacagawea rolls are really going up lately.
