I love Peter's idea. With the rise in the popularity of CRHing I'd love to know that the pool of coins is being restocked.

This is interesting. I have hundreds of duplicate world coins since I have made "purchases by the pound" in the past. I have them all sorted by country and was wondering what to do with them. Most cost me between .10 -.20 each and most are worth about .10-.20 each, with several a bit more. I even tried listing on Craig list with poor results. I am very open to donating to a cause such a Boy Scouts or schools. Is there really an interest with these organizations?

Wha...? Why not take them to be scrapped? The Canadian Pennies alone have better copper contents than our Pre-82 Lincoln Pennies!!

    Other than those already mentioned...

    1) Eliminate the root causal: Stop taking "package deals" if that's not what you want.

    2) Check for YN groups in your area. They are often affiliated with grownups' coin clubs.

    3) Check for hospitality tables hosted by local clubs. They may be interested in having low cost coins to hand out to potential new YNs.

    4) Some (not all) coin stores have "treasure boxes" of inexpensive coins for YNs. Make them a good deal for restocking that box.

sometimes that's the only way to get a good deal on the coin you want.

i checked with the local coin shop - they have plenty of junk in the bin and don't want them.

i've decided to give them to my nephews - maybe they'll keep a few, a few will get buried in the back yard, and a bunch more will be lost between the house and the neighbor kid's house.

    1) get a tube of crazy glue and as you go about your daily activities, glue a coulpe to the sidewalk at each stop you make.

    2) Hold a handful in your hand and hang your arm out the window iof the car while you are driving. Every few feet let a few slip through your fingers. It will make a kids day. Except if he stops to pick it up and doesn't look for traffic.

    3) As you go about your daily activities, put a few of them in change returns of newspaper machines, drink machines and any vending machine. The homeless and down on their luck check those locations all the time. It might help some poor guy get some food tonight.

    or

    4) Clean them up real good, put each one in a 2X2 and list them on ebay for $.99 each.

If you check with your local school system you may find they could use them for educational purposes. If they took them it would be a tax write off you know. You could also check with a local chuch for the same reasons.
Try listing a YN giveaway here for some of them also.
Check with Google for local coin clubs and contact some of them and see if they could help you. Also, try for any coin shows and ask the same questions.
