Here is the little cousin of the 1955 DDO. Old number FS# 1-021.93, CPG says (1-0-IV+VIII) doubling on the 1,9 of date and Lincoln's eye. Also the edge of the coat lapel is doubled. Much less expensive.

    Thanks for looking,

    Jim

    Thanks for the compliments all!

To be honest about it, I do buy many of them on ebay. Had to send a couple back that weren't what the seller thought they were. ( '36 lincoln DDO and 1917 DDO ) are most common ones honestly mistaken by the seller. No problems on returns.

I have found many in complete sets I have bought from others. I check each one carefully and I have a good scope and most important, reference books and this forum members. And although maybe not PC these days, I believe ( without religious attachment) that if you do good for people, it will come back to you. Odd for a scientist I know.:D

It's alway's good to be thurough in attributing a cent. I must say that the coins you have attributed and posted on this Forum are a life long dream of many. So what is your next goal?

Rhubarb, thanks for the compliment. I feel humbled. I love to learn and teach, and this is one area I have a lot to learn! Tdec1000, I am a retired college professor of 36 yrs in the classroom teaching mainly Anatomy/Physiology, Chemistry, and Microbiology. I took up geology when my son expressed an interest in gems, and we took classes and learned how to cut gemstones, and considered getting a GIA degree, but I don't want to work anymore ( well maybe if Heritage or other firm offered me even a low job). And I have seen some nice coins from your postings also!
Thanks again to all of you.
