May I have some grades and appraisals on these? Also, what are the best websites on Canadian coins in terms of identification, pictures, grading, prices? Thanks.

PS: Interesting that the 10C flips North and South. Always wondered when (and why) they changed that to East and West...

1908. Thats when Canada opened there own mint, prior to that Canadian coins where made at the Royal Mint in London or the Heaton Mint in Birmingham.

Your 10 cent was minted in the Heaton Mint, you can tell by the "H" mint mark on the bottom of the reverse side of the coin.

Never knew that, thanks! I suppose the logic behind the change, then, is to distinguish the countries of origin. So what about those websites? I just want to be able to identify and value my humble collection, and I had a great one once for that, that was on an older computer, but now I can't find it, no matter how hard I search.

Does your magical magazine tell you what a 64 is worth?

1940 in ms 63 is as high as it goes $5.50. If u meant 1964 then ms63=30c. It is not magical though, just a regular magazine. I did draw some stars n doodles on it though so i may be wrong.

your 1883 is worth about 50 dollars, Nice premium for G-4 ish. and it only has a mintage of 300,000! hold onto it!
your cents, unfortunatley won't bring much of a premium.
Come on CT! Im loving these canadian threads! bringing back my love for some large cents!
Pull out those old canadians, lets see whatcha got!

I think that can be arranged. Those small cents are as far back as my Canadian cents go. This is all I have left on my computer, right now, some Olympic silver. I love these, though. I think they're beautiful, even though I'm pretty sure they're pretty common. Now, if we can just get all the rest of you to start posting your Canadian coins here, too, I was just thinking, who knows, I might get my first nomination ever for thread of the week!

PS: And thanks all for your help!

Snaz, I need the nickels, too, sorry. Are the '54-'56 (IIRC) a different composition than the rest? Mine are either a different composition or they're plated. Also: '36 DOT, translate "DOT;" 1955 NSF...'know that's probably not "Not Sufficient Funds"...translate "NSF." Thanks.
