To grade or not to grade

I have a 2006 20th anniversary silver American eagle set, and I am wondering if I should get it graded. I was wondering how much it would cost, what the grades might be, if it would add value, and who I should send it to. (I was thinking ether PCGS or NGC.) (If it doesn't matter I like the PCGS slabs better :goofer:)

    Thanks

I think it needs to be in the mint box for them to grade it as a set. They will still grade them, but individually. Do I think it is worth it - nope, not unless you are positive one of them is a 70. Then it might be worth it. I would skip doing - oh yeah I did. I got rid of both of my raw sets earlier this year. Just my opinion.

How can you be positive one is a 70. Even they can't be positive that one is a 70 when they grade it a 70.

There was one company that actually graded the set in the original packaging. I forgot who it was.

Sorry, I wouldn't grade them separately, but I think they would look cool in an NGC multiholder. I don't know the cost, but you can find that out from NGC's website.

If you think one or more are 70s and plan to immediately sell - Yes.
For all other conditions - No.

    I buy not sell. :D
So then no. I am still curios on what the pricing per coin is.

If you don't plan on selling anything in your collection any time soon, then I would advise you to not plan on slabbing anything in your collection anytime soon. It would just be a waste of money. Now, if you are buying a very valuable coin and/or a coin that is often faked then BUYING a coin that is slabbed is a whole other thing. So, like I said in my first post, keep those coins how they are ;)
