Check some of the other PCGS graded coins and make a comparison for yourself.

I'm intrigued by your MS66/MS66+ assessment, because normally you're pretty spot on.

There is considerable chatter on Liberty's cheek, and on the obverse fields. Another thing to keep in mind: @Santinidollar usually has darker pictures of his coins, but even given that, the luster still does appear subdued.

As per PCGS Photograde, look at the progression of luster from MS62-MS67, and the relative number of contact marks.

Now let's take the @Santinidollar presented, keeping in mind the appearance of MS62s and MS66s.

There are just too many contact marks to justify a MS66/MS66+. I also am not aware of the finances of @Santinidollar, and while his collection is certainly more elegant and valuable than mine, a MS66/66+ would likely run him $20,000-$30,000. If he's spending that much per coin, I'd better wise up around these parts because I've got a favor or two to ask His Excellency at once!

His coin's beautiful, but not that beautiful.

I was at 63. I think a nice coin better than the usually baggy 62 and with good luster

Too quick on the reveal for me...I'm on the West coast. I guessed a 62!

A lot of what you are seeing on the first one is luster grazes which will be less disturbing in hand. Also a marginal coin at best. The second coin looks like a mechanical error to me. There are numerous ticks on the OP's coin consistent with the MS62 grade level.

I was only 1 grade off this time! I thought the reverse might have bumped it up.

I hope you have more lined up.

Oh, I don't think so. I had the benefit of seeing the coin in hand. It's a nice coin, but I don't think it's a sure thing for 63.

Looking at Tmoney's PCGS grade sheet rather than my original 62 ob/63 rev. I'm upgrading to 62 ob/64 rev. LOL Still nice piece and thanks for sharing Santini
