I'm pretty sure there common dates. there not going to be key dates at that price in Ms62 or better ,and i wouldn't trust there grading anyway:rolling: just my opinion of course. Jazzcons Joe :whistle:
Agreed. Although I do not know them. But since it is their choice, no photo of the coin you would receive, you would have better luck on ebay. 90% sure you would get an AU-55 or 58 or less. Jim
Thanks for your input! Some of our CoinTalk long time members in the recent past thought that MintProducts.com is a reputable place to purchase coins, especially our modern coins. Just thought to check with you all before I do business with them. I would like to purchase few common date BU Walking Liberty halves and BU Mercury dimes. Not in a slab and not from e-bay, but from some trustworthy source. Any recommendation?
I picked up a really nice MS63 1944 walker at my local coin shop for $29.00, so I think the price from MintProducts is a little steep, even if you get accurate grading. I usually don't buy uncirculated coins, but I love walkers and it's my birth year... so I couldn't resist. Also picked up twenty common date walkers in the VG-F range for $4 each, way down from the $7 of a few months ago. Nice to have a dealer who actually adjusts his pricing based on current value of silver.
A shop by me was charging $17 for worn out silver dollars in their junk bins , and I'm talking really worn .:headbang: rzage
I was paying $15 for well worn dollars, but haven't priced any lately. I'm thinking maybe $10 to $12 each.
I'd be hesitant because you don't get to see a picture of the coin...which is what others have said. I don't know anything about this company, but I don't like the idea of buying a coin I can't even see a picture of. Even if it is MS62 and a common date, I have seen many ugly MS coins that I wouldn't buy even for a low price. Appearance of the coin is too important in this hobby to judge if a purchase of a coin is worthwhile on a grade alone. I have to see a photo of the coin I'm buying or no deal (and if at all possible, I want to see it in hand).

It is quite common for dealers to make such offers. It may be an offer like this for Walkers, Morgans, Peace dollars, Mercs - even gold. The price will vary according to the coin being offered. But it will almost always be a generic coin that can be purchased for a similar price from just about any dealer. That being said, depending on who the dealer is you may or may not recieve an unc coin. But even if it is unc, it will typically be a low end unc coin just like in this advertisement. Sometimes they are good deals and sometimes they are not. Personally, I have never made use of such offers from anybody. I always preferred to pick my coins individually rather than let someone else pick them for me. And often, you will get several coins of the same date/mint in such offers. As for whether or not Mint Products is a reputable dealer, based on my own experience with them they are. That does not mean that I recommend anyone make use of such an offer from them. For I would not recommend using such offers from anyone.
