I bought a nice roll top desk on CL. I use it as my coin desk. The wife loves it, when company comes over I just roll down the top and my mess is gone!

I've sold on CL for quite a few years, and used to do pretty well. The last year or two I seemed to get flagged all the time and my items removed. To the toon of about 30 all at once at one point. All ads completely within CL guidelines. Things like a school desk, purse, cookie jars.....They started flagging and removing all my ads again about the time this Virus thing started so I really haven't paid any attention to it. Just let the ads that are still on there languish. It was too frustrating.

well...back a few years ago, i got a scrapping contract, whereupon i netted about 65,000 over a 2 year period off of a scrap wanted ad..(took down a hotel), and a few years after that, got a house-clean-out job that lasted 2 months, and netted me the general contracting contract to rebuild a 300k house to a mill $$ house over the course of 11 months, so..craigslist has had it's uses for me, i must say..of late, not so much, specially since they took the dating site off, used to do pretty good on there as well..lol oh..sigh, good times

CL is great I make thousands dollars buying things at local auctions and selling them to anyone with cash to spend. I also save a lot of money buying things to fix up several houses that I flip. I don't know what I would do without it.I once sold a blue plastic barrel to a woman that wanted to fill it with mettle shavings and silicone caulking to put on her property to keep the white cloud like streaks that follow airplains off her land. I made 20 bucks that day

AFAIK there are no seller's fees, just have to deal with flakes quite often. One of the TV's I bought, I told the guy I was headed over and he had it ready when I got there. He said he had 3 flakes to tell him they were headed over and never showed.

One of the first things I look at on CL is the "Free" listings. Interesting things sometimes. When my daughter was coming to visit with our grandson, I got an excellent crib and mattress for free.

We do the "free experiment" occasionally (old lawn mower, lawn furniture we're replacing, etc.). Put it at the curb with a sign on it saying "Free", and usually it is gone within minutes.

Yes, the old “Free” sign on the item at the curb trick! I once put a well used Honda self propelled mower on the curb with a free sign on it. Only 1 speed out of the 3 worked, of course the slowest one - :banghead:. Good friends of ours happened to drive by a short while later and picked it up for their son who was on hard times.

I "Free" doesn't work just put sign on it saying $50 or something. It will be gone over night.

What? You've never heard of "chemtrails"?
    ( ;<{D}
This is one of the least plausible of the silly CT (conspiracy theory, not Coin Talk) concepts wholly bought and unquestioningly believed by people addicted to paranoia; and, evidently to the endorphins released when they wallow in their their fears.
The "theory" is based on the visible water-vapor contrails which precipitate out of the air as planes perturb still places where water vapor may be (and in fact is) slightly below the temperature necessary to become fine water droplets which become visible as a wispy, smoke-like trail, appearing, from the ground, to be released from the planes.
This is a perfectly normal phenomenon, but if you live relatively close to a major airport, on a clear, windless day you may see dozens of contrails crossing the skies.
The conspiracy theorists are convinced this is a spray of concentrated, mind-altering chemicals (hence "chemtrail") that nefarious actors of rather uncertain movements or goals are using to brainwash and mind-control vast numbers of people.
Unfortunately I know all too well about "chemtrails", my daughter's father-in-law is a firm believer and he's told me all about this commie plot in great detail. All the more amazing as he owns a machine shop which makes specialized replacement parts for aircraft and so should be well-connected to the realities of aviation, however...
There's simply no convincing him that he and whichever ridiculous daytime AM radio fear-foghorn he's getting this from is silly beyond belief.
The amount of material a plane would have to carry to spray a visible trail hundreds of miles long would exceed its rated lift capacity - and severely cut into the all-important profits made by transporting people and goods.
Interestingly, based on the couple of weeks of flying moratorium post 9.11, it appears that shade thrown by contrails actually may have a measurable effect on the ground. The average temperatures were slightly - but measurably - higher during the time the skies were 100% clear of civilian aviation. It appears that although the effect is miniscule, contrails as "miniature clouds" are actually helping keep ground temperatures a tiny bit lower than they would otherwise be.

I understand Contrails (chemtrails), but what does that have to do with a blue barrel filled with "mettle shavings and silicone caulking"?

    I assume he meant "metal".

That Blue Barrel works the same way for that person who also covers their windows with aluminum foil to block Alien radio waves (or whatever it is) from penetrating their brain. :)
