68 and if that is lint on the back, maybe 69.

gee that lint is on the plastic....I found a possible fault in it though.

These are the best pics I could get with my old camera. I have 2 of these and they are both flawless. Not a nick, scratch, chip, ding, dent or piece of lint or dust on either, Think I covered everything...... John

If you'd grade it a PF 66, then I'd question what coin you are looking at. I only see Uncirculated coins in this thread to that point, no proofs. ;)

I guess that means that you found the spots also. That is why I said 69 not counting the lint.

I don't mean to be rude but This is a waste of time if there is any kind of nick or whatever on a coin the coin will not be graded a MS70 just common sense/ In order for a coin to be garded MS70 it has to be perfect.NO flaws what so ever

In front of Liberty's right foot, inside the "O" in "OF AMERICA", and above the "E" in same.

Not really Jazz. Ruben is claiming that there is no discernible difference between a 69 & 70. I have now on two different occasions shown that there is a difference from a photo.

The question is whether or not these little differences really make a difference between a 69 and a 70... and not to us, but to the grading company. What we really need to do is post graded versions of the same coin in both 69 and 70 and then pick them apart. The truth being that on any give Sunday, any ONE of my coins will go for a 70.

True, but if we are able to discern the difference from a small online photo, probability suggests that the professional graders would not miss what we were able to see.

Excellent point. The Jackson spouse is a perfect example of a 69. It's perfect other than the little speck on the front. And maybe the top rim. It's obvious that this would not pass as a 70 so a lot of people wouldn't bother sending it in. Other people, who may not have as a good an eye for the minor details will send it in and get back a 69 and wonder why.

A 70 will never have a minor hit, knick scuff, anything. What's so hard to understand about this?

I love that Jackson coin. I want one.

I may post a couple pics here with my very subjective opinion tonight. I have a couple perfect PF candidates.

Actually according the PCGS standards posted on their site a 69 can't have hit that big so it is a 68, IMO according to their standard.

If doesn't have a speck it has a big ding on the rim. Its a 68 IMO

Only if it can be picked up in a x5 loop.

Those spots you described are on the plastic. In fact, you can see their reflections in the coin. The only problem I see is here in the 'u' and I'm not convinced that it qualifies as 5x loop imperfection

THAT is why you don't believe in a 70 grade. If you keep blowing up the photo larger and larger you will sooner or later find something the matter with it. A grading uses either the un-aided eye or maybe a 5x at tops for grading. With those standards in mind start checking out coins and I think you too will start to see how a coin can grade a 70.
