The 00011010 is a Binary Serial number. I like that one better. Star notes are common. Keep them if you want.
Just put them in holders for now. The binary note definitely has some collector value- I found one back in 2018 (in much more circulated condition), and it sold for $30. The star note is fairly common, but still pretty cool. Nice finds!
1) Put them in a currency sleeve and save them. 2) Give them to a young collector. 3) Spend them. 4) Sell them.
The top note is a binary note. The other is a star note. Both look like they are in great shape but they are both modern notes. Put in a plastic currency sleeve to protect them. Tuck them away for 30 years or longer. Then sell them.
I save any note that I get and put them in a "plastic" currency sleeve to protect them. Since they are one dollar bills, unless you are a broke college student, I would save them a bill at a time. I cashed a check for $500 a while back. The teller wanted to know if there was any particular bills I wanted. I asked her for $20's. She gave me $500 in 20 dollar bills that looked like they just came from the presses and they are in serial number order. I didn't need the cash, so I put them in sleeves and put them in my SDB. I probably have over $5K in bills saved in our SDB. With the way things are going with the "Virus", I may have to break into the SDB so I can buy a loaf of bread. Some lady at the store this morning, went directly to the meats and loaded her cart with meat. Another customer complained to the manager and the manager went to the lady and told her there was a 5 meat package limit. Boy, was she Pi***. She left her cart and stormed out of the store. We live in a small community and I knew who she was, and so did everybody else. Her husband is a well loved doctor. I can guess what he told her when she told him what the manager did.
Theres really not a premium on sequential bills unless there's something special about the number itself, I have a local McDonald's and usually go there for lunch on Fridays at the same time and always get new sequential bills fresh of the truck ...LOL, cool but that's about it.
its hard to see the dates.. as said above you have a binary SN and a 'star' note. some one may find interest and value in them! How much detail do you want to know? 1) Fancy Serial number: a 'Binary' - the one with only two different digits in the SN is the rare-est of the two.! 2) the Star Note: if its 2017.. its from the first print run. I and J facilities are often lowest production runs of all the printing facilities. But this one is not of the rarer print run.. but theyre still cool. as with coins, in currency condition is important for maintaining best value.. so be sure not to fold or wrinkle them. So as the others said.. put them in a currency holder to protect from accidental wrinkles/damage. 3,200,000 = Run Size Regular = Replacement Type 3,450,000 = Total Printed Other Info Run Number: 1 Serial Number Range: J 00 000 001* J 03 200 000* Printed at FW facility in November 2018 Other Star Note Runs For Series 2017 $1 "J" FRB Run No. Range Run Size Type 1 J 00 000 001 * J 03 200 000 * 3,200,000 NOTES 2 J 03 200 001 * J 03 450 000 * 250,000 SHEETS
