It's tough around here, and GA opened first. My local GNA didn't even bother to mention the May show. Do you see a coin show in 2020?
I visited with my dealer on Wednesday. He and his wife travel to every major show. They enjoy the traveling and that’s how he buys his inventory. His shelves are bare and he did not think there would be any shows in the foreseeable future. Sure will be glad when Covid-19 is a memory.
Probably not without a cure. Even if the data keeps showing that way more people than have had symptoms have had it, coin shows are generally the older more at risk population. It's gonna take a while for people to be comfortable with such a close setting
Mike Dixon's Gettysburg show that's is usually in the fail, he's now having a June Show l believe that last June was the first one for summer . Most of the dealers here do take the summer months off. The problem is at present anyone entering the state needed to quarantine for 14 days. I have been in state since this hit, no travel to D.C. , Va. ,Wv. ,De. So depending on how hot things are at that time will be the barometer if shows open. I haven't worked a show since December.... and doupt if i will work any this year. Would they limit the number of customers in the room like food stores, and other retail outlets. Plus the show sponsor would need to cover a lot more bases. Making their cost higher passing it on to the table price. Then one must consider the percentage of loyal customres would be willing to attend under the current situation.
No surprise. Until cure / vaccine I expect continue. eBay is thriving some good store sales and a few sweet buys.
