Hi, So here's a thread with no pictures. Its a 1983 Canadian proof Cent. I have tried relentlessly to get a picture of the defect but to no avail. but I can explain it... The Rim on the obverse and reverse in the same spot, is down to the same level as the field of the coin. There is the same amount of luster there. the best way to explain it is that there is a "notch" taken out of the rim at 11 O clock still showing luster and on both sides of the coin. thanks. Shawn
this still has the full shape of a cent. there is no clip out of the coin like you would see here. the only alloy missing off the cent is on the rim and it is brought down to the same level as the field of the coin.. this is sooo difficult without pictures..
A very small rim clip (about a 1% clip) can result in a coin that looks perfectly round yet has no rim at the point of the clip.
