First, welcome back. Favorite series...hmmm. I am a haphazard collector and the first thing I thought of was the Alexander Tetradrachms (and drachms). This series is iconic for ancient coins and was perpetuated for 300 years (correct me if I am wrong)...longer than the USA has existed.

The Flying Eagle cent. There are only 2 official years, but 4 coins including the 1856. I put my set together in the 1960's for a fraction of today's pricing.

My favorite series would be the Liberty Nickels. My first coins were an 1883 W/O Cents and an 1885. Given to me by my aunt when I was 5 years old. Now I have the complete set.

    Welcome back @flyers10 !

There are a number of series that I like, and the Walker is just one of them. However, out of respect for the recent passing of Glenna Goodacre, I will opt for the Sacagawea Golden Dollar with the Soaring Eagle reverse.

My favorite series is the Kennedy Half Dollar. I remember the first day in 1964 when the banks were distributing them. I was working for a Insurance Co. in NYC. At lunch time I went to the bank and waited in a long line to get one. I fell in love with the coin.(brand new and shiny). That started me on my journey in coin collecting. If it wasn't for that I don't think I would have become interested in the hobby but I'm happy I did.

My favorite series is the Mercury Dime. It was the first coin I actually realized was silver as a kid when I used to use a coin operated popcorn machine. It was ten cents a bag and I had a Merc in my change that I realized was a lot different. This was in the early 1970's. It took me awhile, but it is one of the first series of coins I collected the entire set.

This is such a nice set, thank you for being so generous as to give it away like this. Nice to have you back on CT!

My favorite series is the (pre-Gorbrecht) capped bust half dollars and dimes. I like them because they are polar opposites in terms of sizes, and while expensive in AU+ they can easily be afforded in lower grades. The size of a bust half adds to the experience while the small size of a capped bust dime is so cool to have so many details on such a small coin. Listen to me ramble, thank you again for such a great opportunity!

I still like Lincoln cents. I started with them as a kid so they always have a special place.

I don't know if it's proper to call it a series, but commemorative issues have always been a passion of mine. From the time that I first collected coins, I'd always crack a Red Book and turn to the pages of the classic commems. Such beauty and variety of design. I never thought I could have any, but as most of you know, I'm glutted. :)

I must say I'm most passionate about ASE's. I never get tired of the design.....never gets old with me. While long running series such as Lincoln cents and Jefferson nickels tend to bore me, honking hunks of troy ounce silvers feed me........:)

The first coin I ever held in my hand that made me feel it's magic is the Buffalo Nickel. It was so beautiful I didn't ever want to put it down. It's the first coin I saved and the one coin I'll never let go of. My brother gave it to me when I was 10 or 11.

It's my favorite series because it brings me back to the innocence of not only my childhood but the innocence of the time we lived in. My whole family would plop down in front of the old black and white and watch cowboy and Indian movies on the weekends. I remember desperately wanting to be an Indian when I grew up because the girl Indians got to live in the wild, riding horses, living with wolves, sleeping in a Tipi, and dance around nightly bonfires , while the cowgirls mostly stayed home, cooked, cleaned, had babies, and loaded guns so their husbands could shoot marauding Indians. It's the buffalo nickel series for me that still makes me feel wild and free.

First, thank you for your generosity offering this karma to the CT members.

Second, my favorite series is what I consider the most beautiful coin ever designed, the St Gaudens double eagle.

For many years Walkers were my favorite. Still love them but I moved to collecting Bust Half Dollars. It all started at the Fun show a few years ago. I was walking the show with a good friend that collected them.
He took me around to dealers he knew and showed me some really pretty coins he was looking to buy. We looked at a lot of coins and he was teaching me along the way.
I still walk the show each year with my friend but he moved on to Bust Quarters. As we stand at a dealers table talking, he sometimes points at a half that's in the case. I know I need to take a strong look at that coin.

Here is my favorite coin Type, the H10. I was turned on to the series by a friend on the CoinTalk forums. I like that they are so small that they are often overlooked. I like all the varieties that exist, and the low-ish montages of some of the years. ACB763B9-7F41-4858-AA92-4FB626BC4C0A.jpeg View attachment 1106487 7364A62A-412D-49D4-A3CD-7ECB3EE33562.jpeg

Welcome back My favorite is the Lincoln cent. Started collecting MANY years ago as a kid (newspaper delivery boy) and the Lincolns were the most enjoyable to look thru for me.

    1) Thank you for a very generous prize.

    2) welcome back.

    3) Favorite series?

    Wow, tough one.

I was metal detecting a very old school [make that 2 of them] and was able to dig a number of Barber dimes & quarters. I finally got an old Whitman blue folder and they looked lonely.

So I got a better folder and started to haunt area coin shops & a couple of local coin shows.

Finally I decided to complete the sets in as high a grade as possible, so I guess I went a little nuts.
I am still working on the, for upgrades and will probably never finish them.

But, I now have about 3,100 dimes and 2,800 quarters, all Barbers.

I finally finished the complete set of quarters with a nice AG-03 '01S.

But, since the chances for upgrades are really slowed, and how many 1913 P dimes do you really need? I moved over to collecting Bust half dollars, by die marriage.

That is a set that I know that I will never complete, not without hitting the lottery.

The American Eagle gold coins, simply because I think they are beautiful.
