Hmmm. He was able to get a closeup of this one:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290263877723

"That pic is the only one I had."

Translation: I'm too lazy to take any more pictures and upload them for you.

I'm sure you'll get it. It may end up being a good deal. It's just the fact that if it isn't, in all likelihood, most people aren't going to go through the hassle of returning it over 10 dollars. Because now you have to pay to ship it back, plus waste your time, and if you get a refund with paypal, they get a 3% cut out of it, unless it's worth it to wait a week to get a check back and then have to go to the bank and cash it.

i doubt anyone would bother scamming with such a inexpensive coin.

you did ok imo. the bad pic probably scared people off the most and i bet the coin is going to be decent for the grade.

    10 bux isn't a big deal. don't sweat.

Vess1 has shown us that this guy knows how to take a coin pic. This is not the seller to take the blurry picture risk on. At worst you're out a few bucks but a good lesson.

Hey even if it turns out a couple of notches below the 65 to be a MS63, you still got a slabbed (and weather protected) coin worth $20 or so. And if the coin is what ICG says it is, it could be worth up to $50. They're all being hard on you cause they didn't get the steal. U did good. :kewl:

I'll take it off your hands in a heart beat.

For $10 I think you did OK. The photo is lousy but you'll see the coin when it get to you. It's a gamble, but a small one. I've done it for small amounts of money but at least you got a graded coin out of it.

Here I am leaning on you and you don't have the coin in hand. Sheeesh, I'll lighten up.

100% feedback, you got a good deal. a guy with 100% feedback is not scamming you.

This is a low cost item. No big deal. The replies Stainless got here were to help him. Bidding on blurry one side of coin pics is a risk. As far as the sellers 100 percent. He has sold the large number of 8 items on ebay.

Yeah, that and you don't know who's leaving feedback for what. Somebody could have got ripped off and didn't know it. A lot of people are too kind hearted to ever leave a neutral or a negative and will put up with a lot more than others will. When sellers could still retaliate, most people were afraid of getting negatives back themselves.

As far as this Franklin, I wouldn't sweat it. It's probably been somewhat blown out of proportion, but it looks like a lesson was learned. Sure will be interesting to see what this ends up being! lol

Sure looks like stolen pics to me. This bites! :(

I also looked at his feedback and noticed he's sold 3 1921 Morgans recently and all 3 auctions used the same pic. :goof: This looks like a case for CFE to get involved in. :computer:

Hopefully, the seller had problems photographing the coin and just borrowed someone elses pic to sell his coin and the seller actually has one. ;)

    Ribbit :)

    Ps: Great catch, TwoSon! :thumb:

    Stainless,

I think we need to put this in perspective. You spent $10 on this coin. As long as you get an uncirculated Franklin, you didn't get ripped. Don't worry about it. Either you get what you paid for or you actually get a nice FBL Franklin. I like your chances.

FWIW, I spend $25 every night at the casino so the valets don't mess with my car. I also usually spend $5 for a candy bar while at the table. You spent $10 and got an uncirculated Franklin Half, I spent $5 and got some peanuts and caramel. Now I ask you, who got the better deal?:D

Whoa...stolen pics....IDK if I am even going to pay for the item now

I technically have the right not to, correct?

If you haven't paid for it yet, your best bet is to message the seller and tell them that a friend has brought it to your attention that the picture on the auction came from someone elses auction and you'd like to know what is going on?

Don't accuse them outright, let them explain what's going on and why they borrowed someone elses auction pic. ;) Use the old saying to your advantage - Give them the rope and let them hang themselves. :D

When they reply, let us know what they say. ;)

    Ribbit :)

Ps: As of now, you still have to pay but if they admit to using someone elses auction pic, that violates Ebay's Policy concerning pics and you can get out of it if you don't feel right about it.

Look even if its only a baggy MS-60, its still a $10 coin, so you made out okay as far as I'm concerned. I've bid on blurry picture auctions before and won great coins. Its all about taking a chance.

Have you bid on blurry ones that were stolen pics from another auction and ever received the coin?

    UPDATE FROM THE SELLER:

I asked why he used someone else's pics:

Actually I wasn't trying to do that. I had the exact same coin, same grade and didn't have picture. No one is trying to steal anything. I just started and don't really know what I'm doing.
