1999-P Georgia Statehood (Please give me input about this coin)

    If its damage, please explain pre or post strike. I have a hard time understanding some damage. A lot of these would require high heat and pressure. Where besides the strike does the tree his happen? Thank you

    There are many numbers of ways this could have happened after it left the mint. The coin was bent and then straightened back out so it could be used in a vending machine again....perhaps... maybe.

    Well I told the new person to post all the coins he wanted. We are here to help ;)

    DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged. Unfortunately there is no definitive answer on how it bacame damaged but it is definitely not a mint error :(

    Here's one way out of thousands that this quarter could have been bent, and then re-bent so it could be placed back into circulation:

    I know what is meant by "post-mint damage", but what is "pre-mint damage"?

    Blank sheet process of cutting blanks,, debris on stock, defective planchet, alloy mixtures, clips, planchet errors

    It's damaged, after it left the mint. No way to tell how or why.

    So, you're saying that anything that happens before the planchet reaches the coining chamber should be considered "pre-mint damage". Correct? ~ Chris
