I like the idea that there changing the reverse of the penny in 2009, I guess Lincoln, is still on the obverse. I am pretty sure this would make more young one's interested in the, Hobby . and the 2009 dollar coin program as well Jazzcois Joe l
NO!!! I thought the lettering on the side was cool! Do you guys know why they are putting in god we trust on the front? Well you are about to. The "Godless" quarters made a lot of people mad, so know they are putting IGWT on the obverse of the quarter. It's law to put IGWT on all us coinage isn't it? PS coinfreak your new name is Schnookie. Ok?
Hm, I actually like the look of the presidential's. I'm collecting a NGC PF69 set and I think those would look nice, as IMO, the proofs look better than the business strikes. As for the commems. Eh'.. I can give or take. Probably won't be looking to buy them.
I wish they would radically change all 5 coin designs, although the likelihood of that happening a recession is probably more remote than usual. I'd like to see some non-real person portait designs, and make something more symbolic. They can kill the cent all together. Ruben
Oh and BTW - someone should tell the Mint that they are CENTENIAL Lincoln cents and not Bicentenial I know someone from the mint monitors this forum as evidence by the disappearance of our great Mint insider a few months back "2009 Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Program"
i don't see how thare going to remove the edge lettering win thay said what the edge lettering is going to look like but wue know's....
The Bicentennial name is due to Lincoln's 200's Birthday... The 1909 cent was the Centennial Birthday cent... and when the wheat disappeared...
I think they are keeping the latin... and the year/mint marks on the edge... Personally, I liked the original edge lettering setup... oh well...
