Ok everyone my order came in from the mint today. When It got here my silver proof set and proof set quarters had FINGERPRINTS on them. THE SEALED QUARTERS INSIDE OF A CASE HAD FINGERPRINTS ON THEM!!!!!!!!! ON THE COIN ITSELF!!!!!! :computer::desk: HOW AND WHY!!!!!! I AM ABOUT TO CALL THEM AND TELL THEM I WANT A NEW SET!!!! AFTER I MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO ERROR COINS.
Another example of the mint's great quality; they will send you another set if you complain. Then they will resell the set with the fingerprints to someone else.
someone opened the slab cherry picked the coins and then sent ti back to the mint and the mint found you to dump on
I don't know how that happen ,because the people that put the coins in the plastic containers wear plastic gloves, somebody messed up along the line/ I would send them right back after you check for errors. Jazzcoins joe
You will have to send them back, each shipment should come with return stickers/instructions. Keep copies of your return postage and you can request a refund for the postage if you like. Been there done that.
Oh man, I don't know what to say because I just received the exact same proofs and they are exqusite. There is a minute amount of dust inside but I not bothered by that. Idon't know why I thought they would be in ar-tight containers. By all means return them and insist they inspect your coins before they ship them to you. Yeah I know, fat chance. Wish you much luck try to keep your lid on. zg
I must be blessed - out of all the years I have bought from them. Only once did I have to return something. I think it was one of the San Fran gold coins. It was out of the airtite and clearly scratched. Other than that I check everything I get from them - especially looking for errors. No luck so far.
Not sure why this would be as I have gotten my silver proof set a couple of weeks ago and not a problem. I have not had any problems with the mint, I guess I'm the lucky one! I would call and express your displeasure with the transaction!
No, you're the rule, not the exception. The vast majority of coins shipped by the mint are outstanding quality. But folks rarely post up saying "things are great !" - most post only when there's a problem. When we base our perceptions on that, we have a warped view of reality. I've ordered hundreds of coins from the US Mint. Not one had a problem. Virtually all of them were 69s and 70s. :thumb:
Exact same thing happened to me with the old San Francisco mint gold proof. When it arrived, it was out of it's container and scratched.
