I'd need a better close-up. It looks like there might be some silvery-looking coloring along the rim. (There is no need to post a normal coin alongside. Most of us know what a normal dime looks like.) ~ Chris
Weigh it. If it weighs normal, it's environmentally damaged. Missing clad looks like this (I realize this is a quarter, but it is the color I am showing):
That is Environmental Damage. Exposure to the elements and chemicals will alter the Cupro-Nickel clad layer on both sides. Here are examples from my metal detected coins.. Even nickels suffer the same fate.
