Hey all. Yet again another nice find in my stepdad's extensive collection. I have no idea what these are...what the denominations are and how much any of these may be worth. These were all in a case together. Any info that may be able to confirm what these are and how much they may be worth? Thanks so much.

All of these are actually from Japan, 19th century. I will look up catalogue numbers and probably value a little later.

The top three coins appear silver 1 Bu coins minted from 1837-1868.

Some of the bottom coins appear to be 1 Shu coins minted from 1853-1865.

The coin in the lower-left corner appears to be a 2 Bu coin minted from 1860-1868. The composition of this coin is a mix of gold and silver with an estimated gold purity of .229.

Edit: Your photos aren't that great, but I believe that the middle rectangular coin in the bottom row is this.

Nothing more to add here that the experts haven't already said, except that most of these look like nice, original coins. I especially like the 2 Bu in the lower left.

@Lyricfive I'd advise you to wait for more members to chime regarding the value of your coins. However, from personal experience, I've seen the silver 1 Shu coins sell for $20.00 to $25.00 whereas I've seen the 1 Bu coins sell for $40.00 to $50.00. The 2 Bu coin I've seen sell for anywhere from $55.00 to $100.00 for well-circulated examples based on old ebay listings.

I took some better close up shots of the bottom smaller 4 (front and backs) any way if you can confirm these are all the same type of coins or not? I really appreciate your feedback.

Yeah, that is the ballpark. Very popular amongst non-collectors who love medieval Japan. Last "unusual" looking coins from a time there were still samurais. Not demeaning them, I own all of them, just never really got "into" them like some other series. Kinda too new for me personally. I like stuff with more of a millenia of "mellow" usually. :)
