Richard, please don't let a few bad apples spoil it for you. You're welcome here anytime, my friend and thank you sincerely for sharing your experience with us. I also have UPS and FedEX deliveries to my home and, to tell the truth, have become somewhat lackadaisical about them. But, thanks to your post, I'll be keeping a closer eye on them.

Most people on this forum are friendly and very helpful so please continue to post here as most of us really appreciate the insight. And please let us know how this turns out! Best of luck to you!!

Like Richard said " thanks for all the advice". He's made his choice with our help and comments, good or not so good. I'm sure we bolstered his morale and he really appriciates our comments and advice. That's what we're here for, a mutual admiration society, OH NO!!

    Also be clear on insurance.

To the OP: let us know how Heritage handles this. If they do not make right by you I will no longer do business with them.

I agree. If you live in a major city, chances are that there is a specific police detective assigned to monitor pawn shop activities. Ask to speak to this detective and give him the information.

Heritage does this routinely. They just sent my $2K Long Beach purchase USPS priority mail without signature confirmation. I found it in my mailbox with the rest of my mail.

When you spoke with the representative from Heritage who stated that it has gone upstairs and it is up to the big wigs, you should demand thay they transfer your phone call up stairs so that you can speak to one of the big wigs. IMO, the person who answered the phone should have put a high level manager on the phone the minute they heard your story. It would surprise me greatly if Heritage does not have a risk management department dedicated to handling issues such as these. If the person you spoke with is a member of the risk management department, then Heritage needs to transfer that person to data entry or the unemployment line.

This is either a Heritage, a Post Office, or a combination of both mistake. My Long Beach stuff was a similar value, came overnight mail, was insured, had to sign for it etc.

I got the big one on last Monday, it was sent express mail the previous Friday, the other one was sent priority on Thursday and I got it on Tuesday.

They keep telling me that they took a week to get from Long Beach to Texas and that they hadn't shipped out yet. :( I hope they get in this week. There's one coin (California Fractional) that they didn't show the reverse on and as of now, it appears to be an unknown variety and Mike Locke already has dibbs on it and messaged me Friday to see where it was. So he and I are both waiting for them to get here. :goofer:

Ps: What did you get? :D Pics? :D

I have never bought coins from Heritage, just paper money. Curiously one of the lots I bought, a rare Suriname note, was in a foreign coin auction instead of with the paper money, and that is why it came separately. I hope I get another Heritage package in a few minutes.

Heritage has also sent some high-value coins to me via priority mail without signature confirmation. The difference was that they were left in my locked mail box. Not just left at the front door of a 200 unit apartment complex.

Wow Richard... I truly feel for you. Personally, I would give Heritage a few days to resolve the situation, but I would try to talk to some of the higher-ups myself. If they don't resolve it satisfactorily, then you can hire a lawyer and decide what company to go after.

I personally have bought from Heritage several times and have always had good experiences.

Please keep us informed on how things turn out.

Several years ago all my wedding pictures, negatives, etc. were dumped on my doorstep and the airbill was checked to have signature on delivery. Of course no signature was taken, we weren't even home. At least we got the pictures.

    Richard,

I feel your pain, but my mailbox is not a PO Box or a locked apartment box. It is the mailbox at my house. Anyone who wanted could have opened it and walked off with my $2K package. Disturbing! And like I said, they do this to me routinely, like every time I order from them.

if youa re routinely buying the coins you post here make sure the postman is your best friend. its crazy to spend 10 to 50k a year with someone and not be friends with them ;)

Amen. My postal people have gotten me packages that were misaddressed and otherwise undeliverable, because they know me, they know I get lots of mail from overseas. I have known most of the clerks for several years.
