Was digging though some old folders today. You know Whitmans etc. that I've bought over the years. Though I had pulled all of the coins out. I was wrong. Found this VDB in an old Library of Coins album. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0002-16.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0003-15.jpg 35 coins total in the album including a decent 1909 and an XF 1911. I love finding stuff like this.
Every once in a while I find something that I bought and forgot about, shuttering it away somewhere, then I come across it like some pleasant little surprise that was out of sight and out of mind. I recently came across a 17th century token that I bought earlier in the year, liked the name of the token issuer, William Cr@pp had to spell with an ampersand, because the spelling filter will nazify the name. Nobody in this day and age would dare have a last name like that.
Where is Bridgwater? England, Ireland, or Scotland? I love the early farthings/trade tokens. I've managed to acquire a few for my collection and plan on getting more when I can. Ribbit Ps: Nice finds Clembo! :thumb: Now if you can just find my missing 1909 VDB & 1922 weak D pennies. :kewl: I've searched everywhere tonight and don't have a clue where I put them. :goofer:
I need to send you my old books. Maybe you can run your magic on them so more coins will appear. Nice one!
Love those books! Usually so inexpensive. Can't wait to buy some more at my next show. I also just put them aside until I can't resist any longer. Jim
Two weeks ago I found a 2006 Silver Eagle 20th anniversary set that was still in the shipping box in the back of our safe that I had forgot I ever bought. That was a very nice surprise.
Great Find Dan - Congrats!!! Pays to clean up sometimes Might work on me if my wife tells me she has hidden new coins around the house.
