Very nice! I've only ever found two seated coins.

How did you get permission to metal detect in the park?

I have a permit from the NYC Department of Parks. They also give us a huge list of parks that are permitted for detecting. If a park is not on the list you cannot detect there.. such as Central Park in Manhattan.
Prospect Park is on the list but detecting is only permitted on Saturday and Sunday.

I would guess that the Sterling item on top is a shoe buckle.
Maybe from a military dress uniform shoe.

As always, nice finds. You duh man. And thanks for the photo tour of the park. I really enjoyed it. Is there anything on the back of the military item? I was thinking it was part of a medal that held the ribbon.

Nice, I’m surprised Parks are still open where you’re at. In my neck of the woods the saying is “feel free to go to parks, just have $500 in your pocket to pay the fine”

Only the words Sterling Craft and the maker.. Unfortunately It's worn down so I can't make it out.

That’s a most impressive haul. Was that coin important to you because of the year, the fact that it’s seated or both?

    congrats

Nice find! Locating a seated dime (or any seated coinage) has to be a rush.

We can still use the parks in my area but there are new rules. No gatherings or use of the playground equipment. Most follow the 6ft rule. We have code officers that keep watch. Cool guys as long as you follow any instructions they give. If you don't the police come in and they don't play around. They don't have time to play games with jerks. The system works really well.

This past Saturday there were two policemen on horses riding through the park. They spotted a group of 8 guys playing flag football. They quickly put a stop to them. I knew they were going to be approached.
