So, I'm watching a couple of espisodes of Pawn Stars to pass the boredom and this guy brings in this "Amazing Error" coin. A Presidential $1 Washington coin that looks like it has the mumps. When they show the coin up close, I hear a scream. Now I live off the grid, alone, in the middle of nowhere, so I know I must be hearing things. The coin turns out to be a cast fake and it dawned on me that I must have heard @JCro57 or @paddyman98 screaming all of the way up here. LOL There were a couple of other coins featured on last nights show, but they were certified and real. Anyone else hear a strange scream last night.
No, but I watched it last night, too. It was clips from earlier episodes. Did you see the part where Rick was at the FUN Show looking for a gold coin for a client? ~ Chris
Yeah. $70,000 coin. Looked awesome. He barely made the R/T airline ticket in profit. Just an excuse to take a trip. LOL
I didn't hear any screams unless it was a loud sigh of relief from mother nature. She must be very happy right about now as the waters clear, the skies clears, etc. I read one science article where they measure the vibrations of the earth and it has significantly been reduced.
I watched some of those episodes yesterday or Friday, also. Notice how some of the sellers act like some of the newb posters on here? I saw one where a seller was trying to pawn off an Indian Peace Medal. Easily a 5-figure medal. Rick calls in the numismatic specialist. While they are waiting Rick asks the seller how much he paid for the medal. Seller, "I'd rather not say", he had bought it online. Specialist shows and the medal is, fake. Of course the usual answer we hear, here. The seller says it is real, why would someone fake a Millard Fillmore Indian Peace Medal. The specialist is wrong and this guys knows better. The one thing they don't show is people buying stuff out of the shop. I saw the guy buy the cigar box that sat on Kennedy's desk in the oval office. Still had some old cigars in the box. Nothing special about the box. A rather plain cigar box as far as cigar boxes go. $75,000. No way! Rick was sad to see it go.
Was that the show where he was looking to buy a Panama-Pacific octagonal $50 gold for a client? If it was, he was probably given free airfare and room an board for that one. He was on the bourse floor, and got to shake his hand. It was good publicity for the show. He bought a Pan-PAC $50 in MS-62 as I recall.
