Hope for you that it comes back as legit. Keep us posted. Really would love to see a new discovery instead of some of the items that have been posted on Coin Talk.

The debate goes on. Food for thought from the Lincoln Cent Resource Center from some time ago.

That's down there by Rocky Ford. Good luck with the coin. It would be real neat to add another steel 44 cent.
I am afraid that the details are way to weak.

That 1944 is 100% counterfeit. No doubt in my mind and I know this for a fact.

I have 3 of those exact ones. Looks EXACTLY like the ones I have. Same soft details on Lincoln's face. Same surface finish. It is the same weight as a genuine one and is magnetic. You can even get these free with just shipping.

DO NOT SEND THIS IN FOR AUTHENTICATION. You will be disappointed and poorer. Please, just take my word for it. I am not guessing here.

Just a figure of speech. I hope it turns out genuine, that would be neat.

That 1944 is worthless. Not even an altered coin. It is completely fake

I was born in 1943 and have held and owned many 1943's. This one doesn't even look like something that would come out of the US Mint. I am really waiting for the slab to come back.

I submitted (economy) 15 coins to ANACS back in November, it took 72 days to get them back and that was during normal times.o_O

I think PCGS shuttered around the middle of March, NGC is last man standing!

Poor quality fake, probably an early Chinese one, and they do a much better job on the fakes ones they make today. This one is fairly laughable.

Here is mine. Same EXACT coin. Notice the weakness on the reverse lettering in between the wheat stalks. Has the exact same flaws as the OP's coin from the exact same dies. Same color, finish, bust weakness. This is my proof, and it should be yours, too.
