Not being an "ancient collector" (although some might call me ancient) what is it about the coin that cries fake Anthony?

Interesting comparison between the two coins. The guy on the e-bay coin looks way too happy.

    Check out the seller's feedback:

    http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...FeedbackAsSeller&sspagename=VIP:feedback:3:us

There are two items he sold with a Private Auction and the rest he didn't. Why? The reason is pretty much obvious and now it makes me wonder what he sold to the other two peeps? Someone should contact the buyers and ask them what they bought, since this seller is now known for selling fakes under the mask of a Private Auction!!!!!!!!!!

It's situations like this that should "force" Ebay to NARU a seller, since it's obvious the seller knows that they are selling a fake, yet Ebay won't do anything about it!

    Ribbit :)

I know I'm posting after the auction has finished but there are 3 dead give aways with that coin apart from a poor engraving this is what should be there 1 is the bottom of the nose is shorter and more rounded this coin doesn't have 2 is the cross or crux at the back of the neck it should be close to the neck and shoulder and the top should point to the 10.00 o'clock position again this coin doesn't have and 3 the 2 R's on the reverse are slightly tilted to the right again this coin doesn't have this either, hope you don't mind me pointing out the flaws and if your interested look up B.M.C.670,Syd 388,Craw 206/1 to find the real coin regards Harry :stooge: oh and P.S. Drusus those die's for making fakes are very close to the real thing I'm glade there out of circulation

I would never condemn this coin based on the criteria you listed. All three of them could be chocked up to a difference in style of the engraver. Of course, after comparing it to the known fakes, that style is obviously one of a modern counterfeiter. Still, I feel that, especially with ancients, the fabric of the coin is a better qualifier than any die characteristic.
