I promised myself I wouldn't get any more sucked in to my dad's coin collection, but I noticed he'd sorted a bunch of 1946S pennies, and I made the mistake of looking them up and learning out about the S-over-D overpunch, and my eyesight's horrible, so I had the bright idea of shooting them with my iPhone on a tripod plus a flashlight, but I still can't freaking tell, and am not super desperate for the thirty bucks or whatever even if I got lucky, but I've gone this far so I may as well see it through. Photos #1 and #2 are the one that I think's the best candidate, but what do I know? The same coin is top/left in photo #3. Any opinions? ARGHHHHHH

You can get an iPhone magnifier on Amazon it's called a carson 20X led microscope. costs about 18.00. Oh! forgot those cents look they were buried.
I used to use a Pac-Sci stereomicroscope with optical zoom and built-in halogen lighting with dimmer, but I ended up selling it for lack of space in my latest residence. Here are some examples of close-ups I took with it. If I ever decided to buy another stereomicroscope, I would make sure it had the same capabilities plus a dedicated eyepiece (trinocular) for the camera. ~ Chris
One don't need no fancy camera to shoot photog. All one needs is a steady hand (tripod) and macro capability.........
