I possess one Barber Quarter. I bought it in a slab (as you can see in the pictures), but it has since been set free to live a life in an air-tite. Another (see Barber Dime) real coin that is a perfect example of what I collect. Plus it's from New Orleans - like me! And yes, I drink whisky. Oh, btw, guess the grade that was on the slab. Winner gets nothing.
Nice coin. I think the old circulated coins have much more character than the bright, shiny versions. It is easier to picture how many hands have handled them. I have only 1 Barber from New Orleans, a half and i couldn't guess at how many people have held her
@ToughCOINS ...gonna put you on the spot...what made you say VF35? Just trying to make me feel better about my coin - lol?
The coin retains the requisite detail in several areas that usually draw my eye . . . the denticles on both sides, the three "corners" of the shield, the eagle's neck feathers. I would have liked to see traces of luster in protected areas, possibly subdued by the photos, but the coin looks so nice that I ignored that. Very nice coin!
What is your favorite whiskey? Mine is Blanton's, but it is a little hard to find in my neck of the woods. So I also drink Buffalo Trace, which is made by the same distillery but is easier to find. Steve.
