A planchet that is too thin will show the reverse die on each side “bleeding” through.

Fun coin I have had too many Cervesa's but I think I have made up my mind. I will look at it in the morning. My first impression is damage.

wow. 1.7g light. That’s super thin and explains what we are seeing here.

Honestly, looks like the planchet split before striking. That’s the only way I can explain everything I see

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I think you might be right. That explains the marks on the reverse above Cent.

If it were rolled thin, I would expect the unstruck surfaces to be smoother.

    so.. @JCro57
When do you plan to reveal the answer?

Some say struck on Rolled thin Planchet and the others say struck on Split Planchet.

Is it me or can anyone else see hints of the memorial at 7 and at 11 in the mess on the reverse?

It's a tough one to call for me without seeing the surfaces some areas look damaged but others look MS. I could see a rolled thin planchet or possibly struck on a split planchet. That roughness on the reverse is odd.

One last question. How about a few edge pictures? I just can’t make an opinion just yet. Thanks ~ Dan ( I stole this ~ from Chris)

    Answer: GENUINE.

Struck on a split planchet before strike. (The split occurred on the reverse side. Note the texturing.)
