53,200,000 is not a low mintage.

I thought that 2009 was a low mintage yr. I guess I was wrong and probably a “bit low on average” year.

The Fort it depicts is in Old San Juan. It is called El Morro.

I'm sure there are plenty of mint errors for the 2009 Puerto Rico Quarter. Errors can occur on any coin.

Here is something I can share from my collection -

Certainly low compared to other years, but not low enough to command a premium as far as I can tell. Still a rewarding find; I remember looking a long time for the 2009 State (Territory) Quarters...

The low mintage and that they were NIFC. Problem is there are many rolls still being hoarded.

Meow thinks the Mariana ones had lower mintages for territory quarters. And the Acadia ATB has the lowest in the recent times. Meow recalls a figure like 21,600.000 p mints, and 22,000 000 d mints. Meow Catsonally finds the El Yunque ones the hardest to find CRH.

John should buy a copy of A Guide Book of United States Coins also known as the redbook. Pricing guide isn't that accurate, but you can get an idea of a coin is rare. The great thing it's filled with all kinds of info. Mintages, weights, compositions and even basic grading info. There also historical info

I would be willing to bet that almost every experienced collector of U.S. Coins on this site had one when the were newbies and many still use it as a reference today (I do). Best $10-15 you'll ever spend on the hobby

They were NOT NIFC coins. All the territories quarters were released for circulation.

2nd highest mintage for the last 6 quarters that year. Not low at all.

Was it the nickels and dimes that were NIFC that year?
