1982 TRINIDAD & TOBAGO 5 cents KM#43a .925 silver 20th Anniversary of. Independence PROOF - EXTREMELY RARE Mintage-699 . After 20 years I find this 1 coin by itself and not in a set. I pounced on it for $100. It will make a very nice addition to my "Coins with Insects" coin collection. So thrilled to buy it. Sellers pics...

Just double checked it, looks like something went wrong and it should be 1808/1809. I use this online calendar converter that is super useful for this.

 

Yes - AH1223 is the accession year. Your coin I think is year 26 of the reign (in the curved symbol at the top of the first side). This would mean it was created around 1834 or 1835.

Here are a few interesting pieces I came across while digging through an old box of random world coins. Nothing like home quarantine to get you to revisit some forgotten stockpiles. There’s some value in XF and above according to the NGC site.

 

I own several Commodus Tetradrachms already but couldn't resist getting another. The simple matter is the same as always, was going extremely cheap.

I'm always happy to add new Alexandrian Tets, especially when the price is right.

I picked this up the day before my LCS closed.

 

After a relative dry spell, I have a couple of purchases. The one above and this one. It came up in today's auction at Davissons. Much like most of the recent auctions, the prices seemed pretty strong today. I think the only reason I was able to win this one was because of what the auction house described as a flan flaw at 11 o'clock. It didn't matter to me. I couldn't have afforded a perfect one.

Master of the Order standing, holding the hilt of a grounded sword in his right hand, a lion holding a shield to left / Maximilian on a horse moving right, a circle of shields of arms around him. Dav. 5854. KM 30. Near Extremely Fine; light wear on highest points, lightly toned, flan flaw at 11' obverse; pleasing surfaces and overall a fresh and pleasing coin.

Great coin, fantastic design, don't you wish they struck coins like that today......instead of ridiculous modern stuff like Batman/ Superman.....

 

Yeah really. This one really spoke to me despite the flaw. To me, that is just part of its story. I will (im)patiently awaiting its arrival.

 

The 1821 St. Helena is the star of this bunch. Came yesterday, I love the Portuguese colonials too.
